The Aalto vase has become one of the world’s most famous glass objects, deservedly synonymous with Finnish glass art and with Iittala. Alvar Aalto created the Aalto vase in various shapes, sizes and colours for Iittala and the World Fair in Paris in 1937. It is exhibited in some of the world’s most influential design museums. The fluid shapes are said to derive from the Finnish landscape and its lakes.
The vases are hand-blown using traditional techniques, and may therefore contain tiny bubbles. Hand wash only.
