Louis Poulsen commemorates the 50th anniversary of the design icon PH 5 by introducing PH 50, a special version of the world-famous fixture designed by the Dane Poul Henningsen.
The new design not only introduces a splash of colour but also some tweaks to the original design. The inside of the light is now white to make the shades perform better with low energy light sources. The bottom aluminium disk has been replaced with a frosted glass diffuser to allow more down light. The new PH 50 models have a high gloss surface, giving the fixture its cool look. PH 50 is designed to hang low over tables, using three reflective shades, a cone and two smaller shades to produce warm, glare-free light.
