Glerups, their passion is felt! Glerups is a family run business which was founded in 1993 by Danish Mother Nanny Glerup. The very first pair of Glerups slippers were hand crafted using wool from her own flock of native Gotland sheep. So loved were her slippers by family and friends, that Nanny's hobby soon grew to two pairs a day! And this is how Glerups was born.

Nanny and her husband Ove have worked hard over the years to improve their wonderful felt slippers. Many different production techniques have been developed to perfect Glerups slippers and to keep up with the growing demand. Glerups slippers are now made from their newest revolutionary material, SilkFit. The best qualities of silk and wool create a soft, extremely strong material. Glerups slippers are naturally breathable, warm and comfortable, making them cosy in the Winter and cool in the Summer.

From farm to foot each slipper goes through various processes. The wool is washed in soft water, then carded and felted. The slipper's shape is formed after which they are steam-felted for a perfect fit before soft calfskin or rubber soles are glued and sewn on, for lasting durability.

It has always been a clear objective to produce all Glerups products with care for people and the environment. Glerups clean as far as possible the wool mechanically to avoid all unnecessary chemicals. The company uses only colours that are free of heavy metals and toxic AZO dyes.

Glerups use European tanneries that meet the EU's stringent environmental requirements. The calf skin is tanned by the most modern and environmentally friendly methods and are also free of PCP, AZO dyes and chrome VI.

Scandinavian style and design go into making these truly crafted luxury slippers. The result is a quality product with a conscience as well as warm and comfort for all seasons.

So good are these Danish slippers that they come with a warning of addiction. Once you own a pair of Glerups no other slipper will do!
