Kähler, potter Herman J. Kähler, began producing ceramics in 1839 in the city of Næstved. His son took over the company in 1875, when it began to grow and gather speed.
With this heritage through the generations, it has become one of the great Danish ceramic companies and has employed some of the greats along the way. Thorvald Bindesbøll, Svend Hammershøj and Kai Nielsen. This truly great design tradition has been continued with the work of Louise Campbell, Bjørn Poulsen and Jeanette List Amstrup.
